I haven’t had time to do this kind of photography extensively yet, but when there are crowds, you can get some amazing, unique shots by getting very close with this lens.
The 7Artisans 10mm f/3.5 ultra wide lens provides a field of view roughly equivalent to a 15mm lens on a full-frame camera.
The lens will help you make all kinds of photography: street, abstract, portraiture, documentary, and even videography. So the angle of view is very versatile.

The lens is metal build with some plastic interior, feeling very sturdy in the hand with great build quality.
You have a focusing scale, which is very interesting because it doesn’t extend the lens, so it remains compact no matter how you use it.
The lens minimum focus distance is just 20 cm — really amazing.
The aperture ring clicks are clear, the aperture ring is grippy, and very precise — sturdy and exact.
I would call the build quality as good as a Voigtlander lens, from my point of view. I really appreciate the choice of materials, the solid construction, the precise aperture clicks, and overall craftsmanship — it’s truly top-notch.
It’s a pleasure to take this lens in your hand and use it on your camera — a real joy.

How this lens focuses and handles on the Fujifilm X-T50 (aff) you ask?
It’s very easy to focus this lens. Being an ultra wide lens, it’s very easy to focus.
It also has nice micro contrast and very good resolution. Because of this micro contrast and resolution, you can’t miss the shot. Even if the shot isn’t perfectly in focus, the picture will look nice and okay.
I really like the handling of this lens and how you can focus it and the end results it delivers.
Manual focusing is very nice with this lens. If you’re not into manual focusing, this is a good lens to start with manual focus, because being ultra wide, it’s easy to have everything in focus.
You can focus very fast and have everything in focus easily. For street, landscape, or urban photography, you can set the aperture to f/11, preset the lens, and just snap away.
It’s very easy to focus this lens, even at f/3.5.

There are some good points and some compromises.

There is some flare — some ugly flare that can make a round circle on your image. You must pay attention not to have this flare. I would recommend using the lens hood.
Overall, the lens has very good coatings, so the image doesn’t get washed out. Even if you have flare, the lens is very contrasty.
You also have some purple fringing and some vignetting, but nothing that disturbed me or prevented me from using the lens.
The only thing that disturbed me was the flare, so be careful how light hits the front element and use the lens hood to avoid it.

This is not a fisheye lens, which is very important. You have very straight lines, and the image is very nicely rendered. 7Artisans 10mm 3.5 it’s a rectilinear lens!
You don’t have the ugly deformation typical of ultra wide lenses. Of course, wide lenses will offer some interesting lines, and you may need to correct perspective if shooting architecture.
But overall, the lines are straight, and the lens performs amazingly well for such a small ultra wide lens.
Another great feature of 7Artisans 10mm 3.5, is the 10-point sun star effect. This lens renders very nice, pleasing sun stars, which I really like for landscape, urban, and sunset photography. It helps create amazing, special pictures.
This lens resolves the 40-megapixel Fujifilm X-T50 sensor without any problem, so you can crop as much as you want.
You also get lots of micro contrast, resolution, and nice straight lines — a very well-made ultra wide lens.
7Artisans 10mm 3.5 Bokeh and Close Focus
Regarding bokeh, even if you can shoot this lens at 20 cm and f/3.5, don’t expect amazing bokeh because it is an ultra wide lens.
You can get some blurry background when getting close to an object or person, but bokeh is not the strong point of this lens.

Does this lens deserve the price? Does it make sense to take an f/3.5 ultra wide lens on a Fujifilm camera or on other cameras?

From my point of view, yes, this lens is a hit — a real hit.
It’s a manual focus lens that’s very easy to focus. I’ve always complained that on the Fujifilm X-T50 I don’t have manual focusing controls as good as on the Fujifilm X-T3, but this lens is very easy to focus.
You just set the lens according to the scale, and it’s exactly right.
Importantly, this lens has a true infinity focus point, so you can set it at f/16, put it on infinity, and everything will be in focus — great for summer days and landscape photography.
If you don’t want to use such a wide lens, you can use the digital teleconverter on the X-T50 (aff), X-T5 (aff), or the sports finder mode.
In sports finder mode, this lens becomes equivalent to a 21mm full-frame lens, a very nice field of view.
You get two lenses in one and can crop in even more, which is very important.
This lens will transform your Fujifilm camera (X-M5 (aff), X-T50, X-T5) into a snap machine.
No more need for a Ricoh or other cameras; this is very easy to maneuver.
Overall, I really like this lens. I totally recommend it.
I’ve used other f/1.8 ultra wide lenses on the Fujifilm system that are bigger and heavier.
